Stress Disorders

‘Give Hope’ provides support and counselling services to help you deal with every day stress and particularly Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and Panic Disorder (PD). All services are FREE of charge and with no eligibility criteria.

Stress disorders and PD are very common in our times accounting in health related issues for around 47% or working adults while 20% of them seek for professional advice. If you ever experience non-expected or repeated episodes of intense and escalating fear for no reason or notice symptoms like: tachycardia, generalised pain, discomfort, dyspnoea, tremor, faintness, dizziness, numbness of the limbs, excessive sweatiness, rigor, loss of control, sense of being choked and others it COULD mean that you suffer from some form of anxiety disorder. The long term effects of living with such a disorder might be devastating and must be prevented.

‘Give Hope’ provides the frame and environment of care and support to investigate and analyse such behaviours and symptoms that point towards anxiety disorders to provide help from specialised healthcare professionals. We greatly consider the fact that under those same symptoms many physical diseases could be underlined; hence we encourage medical investigation and medical treatment for such cases as absolutely indicated.

Our goal is to create a secure and comfortable environment for groups to work in, where people with GAD or PD will introduce each other and work on their issues under professional guidance, through group discussion and Cognitive Behavioural Treatment (CBT). CBT is commonly used to dictate a different approach on dealing with PD, stress relieving techniques and incrementally place the individual safely back to its normal environment. These groups will work interactively but with no obligations on behalf of the participants.
